How old do you have to be to work here?

You must be at least 14 years old and enrolled in an MPS High School. This opportunity is only for high school students

Do you need art experience?

Nope! All applicants, regardless of prior knowledge or experience, are eligible to be employed.

What does the job pay?

Starting pay for teens is $15.70 / hour

Do I only get paid for client projects?

Teens are paid for hours worked regardless of whether it is for a client, for MYCA, or working on their own skills.

Do I have to buy my own supplies or equipment?

No. The digital media studio will be equipped with a Mac lab, drawing tablets, cameras and a photo/video studio. The painting studio will have easels, canvases and painting supplies. If you own your own equipment, such as a camera, and want to bring that in to use you are welcome to, but you are not expected to buy equipment for this job.

What if I play a sport or have other after-school obligations?

First and foremost this is a job, so you need to think about it as such. You are responsible for showing up on time and working during the required business hours. If you are sick or have an issue where you can't be at work then you would call in just like a typical job. But, if you know you can't make it to work during work hours because of other obligations then this might not be a fit for you.

How do I get a job at MYCA?

Click on the TEEN JOBS tab and fill out an application. There are a limited number of job openings at MYCA and in order to ensure equity we hire based on a first-come-first-serve basis. Those teens that do apply but don't make the cut will be put on a waiting list. If a position opens up the next teen on the list will be contacted and offered the position.

Will transportation be provided to and from work?

No. All employees need to provide their own transportation to and from work.
